Loved the holiday. We weren't sure what to expect from Norway and it was fantastic! The resort is perfect for families with more than enough runs for all levels. With beautiful long, wide runs. The organisation in the ski hire shop was amazing- we have never been kitted out in less than 20mins! Really organised. Night skiing is available and other activities in the resort. The snow is terrific as due to the cold temperatures ice is limited. Locals are friendly. Restaurants visited were really efficient and very clean- especially the mountain restaurants. We received hot chocolates and 2x chips in 2mins! I will definitely be booking for 2023. :)

The free ski bus was really useful to get to other parts of the system when lifts were shut or members of the party struggled with drags/t-bars. Good base of snow but little falling whilst we were there. Canons and piste bashers did their best with what was available. Black of constant grade, not the flat, steep, flat of some resorts - there’s even a nice green to get back to the residences!

Very gentle slopes around Hoyfellsenteret area, some slightly more difficult runs Turistsenteret, not as much terrain obviously as some larger resorts but great for a week especially with beginners. In January some windy and very cold days and top of mountain and some lifts/runs closed due to ice or wind. Signposting of runs etc was not very good on the mountain we found and they could also do with much more chair lifts - (lots of long T-bars and button lifts! ) but it is a lovely resort and would come back. Also be aware of prices - Norway is quite expensive but being able to cook in our apartment was great.
