Radisson Blu Resort Trysil is a fabulously located ski-in, ski-out hotel. There are a number of excellent restaurants to choose from within the hotel and in the Hill buffet restaurant there is a wide variety of tasty options suitable for families. There is a large swimming pool with a climbing wall at one end that kept the children amused. In the basement there’s an excellent bowling alley and amusement arcade, which we thoroughly enjoyed, and there’s also a bouncy castle and table tennis room. I enjoyed a fabulous massage and relaxing in the facilities of the on-site spa. We stayed in a one bedroom deluxe family room, which was spacious enough to accommodate three children in the main living area and had a separate bedroom with a very comfortable king size bed. We also had a mini fridge and kettle with various options for hot drinks (including hot chocolate) supplied. With this room type we were also allocated a locker at ground level which was sufficient for storing all of our equipment. The staff were efficient friendly and helpful and I wouldn’t hesitate to return to this hotel.

Excellent accommodation and very friendly staff. Check in was easy and efficient and our party was given adjoining rooms, which was really helpful. The bus on the way out to the resort was extremely busy and we only just managed to get on and get a seat. Thankfully, it was a lot less busy on the way back to Oslo as we had a later flight. Deluxe rooms were spacious and very clean. Beverages and a kettle were supplied; always a plus! The staff were extremely friendly, especially in the restaurants. Half board here is a must! The buffet in the main restaurant is a dream; plenty of choice and plenty of food. They were particularly accommodating for coeliacs, impressing my daughter with gluten- free desserts every night and GF bread and an allocated toaster for GF use only at breakfast - a lovely touch. The pool, as we expected, was very busy this week, with a lot more children around. The atmosphere in the hotel was buzzing, as you might expect, with Norway being the top of the Winter Olympics table! This made for an even more enjoyable week, especially when Lizzie Yarnold got the Gold and Laura Deas, a bronze!

The Radisson Blu Resort is a very big hotel, which meant if felt a bit corporate and impersonal. It was very solid and delivered well overall. We had a family deluxe room, which was spacious and comfortable. The heating controls left something to be desired and our drying cupboard was a little ineffective, but those were two minor issues. We mostly ate at the buffet restaurant and the choice of food was good. As the hotel was full, it was incredibly busy and noisy but that is no one's fault.
