I come here for a guys' weekend with buddies once a year. The ski area is so nice, long groomers, amazing scenery, good restaurant options, even some budget ones as well. The reason we go though is to do a few days of splitboarding/ski touring. The surrounding mountains are endless and so are the hiking possibilities. We go in mid to end of march just to get a little longer daylight. We stay in Quality Hotel Skifer, full breakfast in the morning included and then sauna after a day out. Oppdal has a really cool climbing/ski touring shop with an indoor climbing wall. And of course there are ski buses from the hotels to the ski lifts. Recommendation for hikes are of course in the lift area, but the standard one almost all people try is the pretty mellow Storhornet. approx 5k hike up. Pic is from the top of Storhornet at 1589m.
