Our 2nd visit to Kvitfjell; a relatively small resort with some great skiing on wonderful snow and almost nobody on the slopes in Jan '24. Some great mountain restaurants with super atmosphere and great food. Can be a little tricky for beginners due to some steep sections on otherwise low graded slopes. Rail transfer from Oslo Airport - very relaxed and straightforward travel. Trains on time, comf…

Quite a small resort but perfect for us. Not all the pistes open when we arrived. Ski instructors were absolutely lovely. Beautiful place. No queues! Quiet slopes which was so great. Short days due to when it gets light and then dark again; we were ready to finish by 330pm anyway. Cold weather; we came prepared with double layers of all thermals!

Lovely little resort, friendly people and it felt very safe. Minimal traffic on the pistes despite it being school holidays, therefore lift queues efficient/easy or none at all! It’s a great resort suited to beginners/intermediate as the ski area is small, we were are of this though and there are some great blues and reds and the snow was exceptional for April. Enjoyed our stay!

For a three day ski trip, this resort very much meets the bill. Fabulous snow conditions, a good variety of runs, and best of all, very quiet. We only had to share a chairlift once! The runs themselves are well groomed and often wide, so an intermediate skier can really hone their skills. There is always the Olympic run if you want to really push yourself. Set over 3 areas, all joined up, keep thi…

Short but lovely runs. Much enjoyed by elderly skiers.

If what you are looking for is a scenic, quiet, under developed resort (i.e. not all about aprés ski and shopping), with a great skiing for intermediate skiers in particular, then Kvitfjell is perfect. We met a few locals who were very friendly but surprised that British people had travelled to their resort because Kvitfjell does feel a bit like a well kept secret... empty slopes and we rarely had…

Amazing location. Quiet, friendly, great skiing. Just watch the green run back into Gudbrandgard Hotel. It is not a green.

Ski slopes at Kvitfjell, Norway - John Greenhalgh - January 2023
The resort is absolute ski in/out and is brilliant. The slopes are generally not too challenging so ideal for those new to skiing or like me of an age where nice cruising is the order of the day. We went mid January and the slopes were basically empty - brilliant if you're used to skiing Austria or France. At the weekend it got busy, with queues at the 2 main chair lifts, but they weren't excessiv…
