A very special family ski holiday. Flew into Bergen and then took the scenic train to Geilo. Spectacular scenery on the way. Arrived at Vestlia resort. Impressed with the property and facilities. Stayed in a 1 bed suite with accommodated our family easily. Very clean and warm. Breakfast and dinner excellent with a buffet for children and 3 course set menu for adults. Hotel has a nice pool, water slide and on site bowling alley. A proper ski in/ski out destination. Good quality equipment available for hire and really friendly and professional ski school. Plenty of snow. We had an afternoon husky sledding which I strongly recommend. Also worth trying cross country skiing. Would definitely visit again - planning 2023 already!

Great hotel, right on the slopes. You can ski right up to the door! Only 100m walk to the lifts and ski school. Very family friendly with pool, waterside and games room. We had two interconnecting rooms which were clean and comfortable but not huge, there was not a lot of storage space but it was fine. The buffet breakfast was fantastic and dinner was always a set menu, the service in the restaurant was always excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel was brilliant and the staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and modern and there was a nice sized pool with flume for the kids. The hot tub temperature was variable. Food was excellent with fish and vegetarian options in addition to the main meat dish. The children's buffet was ok, but our slightly older children (10 & 13) would have liked a bit more variety. Wine is very expensive (cheapest at about £50-£60 a bottle) but a 0.5l of beer starts at about £8. The games room provided a bit of extra distraction with a pool table, table football and table tennis, but some of the equipment in there needed a bit of maintenance. Still we had good fun in there. There's no boot room and everyone leaves their boots in the lobby at the rear of the hotel (access to the slopes) and skis are left outside. I took my boots up to the room and left them in the bathroom. Only other negative was that they forgot our breakfast bags for the return transfer (we had to leave before breakfast). All in all though, we were very happy with the accommodation and it is perfectly placed for access to the slopes in Vestlia.
