Can't be more complimentary about the ski/snowboard school. Fantastic facility, great teachers and Linda (who seemed to be in charge!) was brilliant. If you can feed back to them how good our teacher Gavin was that would be appreciated. We thoroughly enjoyed our lessons each day with him and if/when we go back we'll be looking to have more lessons with him if he's still there! Simply put they just…

Great resort for families. Good supermarkets (although I would take as much food of my own as I could carry because the supermarkets were super expensive!!!). Great skiing, snowboarding and lovely walking for non skiers. Would thoroughly recommend it but am reluctant to because would rather keep it a secret so it doesn't get too busy!!!

Perfect for cross country ski beginners. Beautiful groomed tracks around the lake and huskies zooming past pulling sledges.

Geilo is a great resort for beginner/intermediate and family ski holidays. The slopes are uncrowded and you never queue for more than a few minutes for the chairlift (this only happened to us once on Bank holiday Monday when there were some local kids competitions going). A lot of the time you wont see anyone else on your run. Bliss! The scenery is fantastic. The après is limited but there's more …

Geilo is a fantastic place for families and beginner or intermediate skiers. We stayed in Geilolia with great access to the slopes and to cross country trails. The children's lessons and childcare were also very good. The only problem was the lack of a frequent bus service between the two sides of the resort.

Excellent for beginners, no queues but a little small otherwise and not clear on how to access both sides of resort.

Very good for children and beginners, runs not very long but compensated this with snow parks and runs through the forests. Unfortunately one minus point and a very big one, the lack of access to the two separate ski centres. Due to children's ski lessons located at one, could not then use the other. No bus, only option was taxis which was expensive.

This was our first ski holiday with children and we chose Geilo, Norway because of the recommendations on the ski safari website for family ski resorts. We weren't disappointed! This resort was a great place for the children to learn to ski, we used the ski school at Geilolia, the instructors were excellent and the groups small, the slopes were wide and spacious, hardly any queues for the lifts. Excellent for families and beginners. Just what we wanted. Everybody was so friendly. We had a really enjoyable (and good value) sleighride through the woods with Solveig Danielsen from the Geilo Horse Centre.
