Non-Flight Travel Options

We can arrange your train travel from London St Pancras or Ashford to resort. This option works well if you are a family and looking to travel over peak dates such as half term when air fares are inflated. Children receive discounted rail tickets whereas they pay full price over the age of 2 for air travel.

Catching the train from London to Zurich is now an excellent alternative to flying. The high speed Eurostar link from London St Pancras has cut the journey time to Paris Gare du Nord to just 2 hours and 20 minutes and a new TGV link from Paris Est to Zurich takes a mere 4 hours 30 minutes. (Paris Est is a 5 minute walk from Gare du Nord or 1 Metro stop). From Zurich, it’s approximately 2 hours to resort.

10.56 Arrive at Paris Gare du Nord
11.00 5 minute walk to Paris Est. Enjoy a Parisian lunch.
12.24 Depart Paris Est
17.00 Arrive Zurich main station and transfer to resort (about 2 hours).

Driving to resort from the UK is another option. Once in France, the journey takes around 10 hours to the Swiss resorts. Here's some useful information for driving through France and Switzerland:

• French toll motorways cost around EUR 70 for the return journey. The toll machines take debit and credit cards. You can avoid the toll roads but these roads are usually more congested.
• The speed limit on French motorways is 130km/hr or 80mph
• You will need to purchase a vignette for Swiss motorway tax. This costs CHF 40 and can be pre-bought in the UK. Call the Swiss Centre on 00800 100 200 30 for more information.
• The speed limit on Swiss motorways is 120km/hr or 74mph.
