It was epic! All the hotels were bang on, perfectly located and as one might expect great American service. The parks themselves are mindblowing. I wasn't sure if we would be limited going in March but for the most part this was the perfect time! Bryce looked like more things opened in April (shops and rodeo) but the parks were all on another level! Highly recommend this trip! Although I do suggest trying to get direct flights.

Wow truly amazing the drive from Park City to first Bryce with snow and blue sky. Rangers at the visitor's centre were very helpful and we walked the loop, breathtaking. We then drove a couple of hours onto Zion, This was equally amazing, the drive within the park with pull in viewpoints is worth it alone. We also did the scenic bypass and did the river walk. Visited in January and the weather was amazing 13 degrees and lovely blue skies. From Zion, we went onto Salt Lake City, only had a couple of hours here as we were travelling home the next day, but managed to have a look inside some of the lovely buildings. All our accommodation on route was excellent, the Best Western Grand Hotel at Bryce, Mountain Cable Lodge at Zion and Downtown SLC by Hilton at Salt Lake City which is very handy for the airport.

After a fabulous 10 days skiing in Park City, we didn't think our holiday could get any better, and then we arrived at Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks. The scenery and views were stunning and will blow you away. The driving to these parks is also an experience with the Highway 12 to Bryce and Mt Carmel Highway into Zion. We also organised for ourselves a night in Moab to take in the Arches and Dead Horse Point National Park, they are well worth the visit and set you up for what to expect at Bryce and Zion this was a holiday that we will never forget, and was very well organised by James with all the bookings and reservations he had made for us running like clockwork.

The Canyons/Bryce Canyon/Zion National Park. Being quite late in the season and the fact that the resort hadn't had much snow for March it was a surprise to get in any skiing at all. Temperatures of 18/20C during the day didn't help the snow which did get quite heavy by the afternoon. A light dusting of snow on the third day made for a good skiing day but we only skied 4 days any way. A shopping trip to the outlet Mall and another day in Park City completed the first part of our holiday. Bryce Canyon for one night was the next part and the word Awesome is definitely appropriate. No words can do it justice, you just have to see it for yourself. Zion Canyon National Park was the last part of our trip and we entered the park from the Zion/Mount Carmel highway. I must admit that I was glad I wasn't driving through the tunnel, built in 1929 and just about a mile long through the mountain with several galleries cut in the wall to give a view of the canyon. Three days of hiking! We had our grandson with us aged 9, so didn't do any of the really strenuous hikes which meant that the ones we did were quite busy. My husband went up the last bit of Angels Landing, my excuse was that I was looking after the boy! On our last day we drove up to Salt Lake City and went into Kolob Canyon which is at the other end of the National Park for a gently hike to the double arch. An easy drive to Salt Lake and an overnight stay in a hotel near the airport made for a leisurely start to the journey home.
