I would recommend going to the fjord safari at Flam from Voss on the train for a day. It worked out as a great day trip.

The train journey from Oslo to Bergan was one of the highlights. The train was comfortable and clean and exactly on time. An example to British railways. With amazing amounts of snow, the journey was spectacular especially in the centre of the country where communities were buried up to the roof line. Highly recommended.

We did a custom made safari with the excellent hotels in Bergen (Grand Terminus Hotel) & Oslo (Scandic Byporten) either side of the rail travel to the resort of Geilo. Worked a treat.
