An overnight stay in a ryokan is a quintessential Kyoto experience, offering a unique Japanese atmosphere in a relaxing environment.
A ryokan is a Japanese style inn, offering a uniquely Japanese atmosphere in a relaxing environment, where you can enjoy delicious Kyoto cuisine and Japanese-style baths. Styles of ryokan can vary from more traditional to modern. Two meals can be included with each night’s stay: a Kaiseki (multi-course) dinner on the day you check-in, and breakfast the following morning. Yukata, which are a loose cotton kimono, are provided for guests to wear throughout the ryokan. Bedding will usually consist of a futon, a foldable mattress without springs laid out on a tatami floor.
As most ryokan only offer a limited number of rooms, we work with a ryokan specialist who can provide us with a range of properties to find availability and meet all budgets. A few of which are regularly booked include:
- Ryokan Kinoe
- Ryoan Kazuki
- Gion Shinmonso
- Ryokan Watazen
- Matsui Bekkan Honkan
