Since 1994, Extremely Canadian has been offering a special brand of thrill to those lucky enough to spend some time with them at Whistler Blackcomb. With the incredible Coast Mountains as your classroom, they will introduce you to the gear, terrain and lifestyle of backcountry skiing and boarding.

The day includes guided backcountry skiing, telemarking or snowboarding, during which you'll improve your skiing, increase your safety knowledge, and better your awareness in big mountain terrain.

Itinerary

This is a flexible itinerary; snow and weather dependent. Extremely Canadian are all about adapting to snow and weather conditions to find the best terrain.

8:00

Meet outside on the deck of Essentially Blackcomb, in the Carleton Lodge, in the main village between the gondolas.

8:30

Head up Whistler or Blackcomb with lift-line priority, then traverse out into Garibaldi Park.

9:30

Learn avalanche rescue and snow safety while navigating through the backcountry.

Rest of the day

Ski incredible powder runs and accomplish all of the goals laid out for the day depending on your program.

Dates

Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays early-December to mid-April (private courses available any day).
Ability Level

Advanced intermediate skier or snowboarder, beginner to splitboarding and ski touring.
Gear Required

Touring skis or splitboard and avalanche safety gear (demo gear available, subject to availability).
