Ski in/out was heaven! The hotel staff were very friendly and always helpful. On the 5th floor the signature room for breakfast and afternoon snacks was excellent; a great place to meet people and relax. The one thing we missed was an in-room safe to keep valuables, I expect a hotel of this size to provide this facility, not safety deposit boxes at reception. The restaurant on the lower lobby level was the only disappointment of the hotel - we ate there once and were kept waiting 25 minutes before being seen by anyone.

We stayed at the Delta Sun Peaks for 9 nights in February, in a deluxe (balcony) room. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Delta and have already booked to go back over Christmas 2010. Our room was large, clean, a little dated but very well maintained. We looked right out on to the slope, and it is well worth trying to get a mountain view (I don’t recall having to paying any extra for this, but my travel agent booked the hotel). On arrival we had an unexpected welcome basket in our room which contained fruit, juices, snacks and some chocolate. The bathroom was spacious, and we were given a plentiful supply of towels changed regularly. Housekeeping came every day. The staff at the Delta are fantastic! Maybe being British I’m not used to the high levels of service throughout North America, but still the staff are in a class of their own. Always helpful, polite and made a real effort to remember your name or other details when they must see hundreds of guests every day. We didn’t eat at Mantles (the hotel restaurant) in the evening because there was nothing vegetarian for my wife on the menu. I filled in their online customer survey and mentioned the lack of veggie options. I was surprised to receive a response, but I was told that had we asked the chef would have been happy to prepare something. We did have breakfast quite a few times. The buffet breakfast was great, but they didn’t offer it every day. Maybe there was a rota but I couldn’t work it out; it appeared to be random as to whether or not the buffet was being offered. We did eat at the new Morrissey’s Bar attached to the Delta Residences and the food there was good, and the M Room also in the residences is excellent! My wife and I aren’t fantastic skiers, and are at different levels. Yet we found plenty of skiing for both of us (usually together) that suited our abilities. Sun Peaks is a lovely, quiet resort in which to practice and improve. You also get the feeling people are there to enjoy the skiing (and snowboarding) rather than work at it. The Delta is one of two or three hotels in prime position for the slopes, and is truly ski out. Ski in requires you to use the nursery slope unless you plan your descent carefully on the right trail. If you want to use the swimming pool or hot tubs (and I recommend them) you are best to get down there before the lifts close. Between 3.30 and 4pm it starts to get quite busy and there isn’t much space in the changing rooms.

Great hotel in great resort. Ski to the door (a very slight incline on the way in) and the best pool in resort overlooking the piste, with three lovely hot tubs to relax in after a hard days skiing, whilst sipping a drink brought to you from the bar and watching the skiers come down a particularly steep and bumpy black diamond. Lovely restaurant with nice food both at breakfast and evening meals. Rooms very spacious, clean and comfy and well furnished with tea/coffee makers and a mini fridge to store your food/milk or own beer in. Only point to note - pet friendly means they allow pets in the 3rd floor rooms so let them know if you have an allergy/aversion and they will put you elsewhere. Games room for kids seemed popular - not far from the bar where kids are not allowed, although there are more seats just outside the open but railed off areas. Ski Valet was a bonus and very welcome facility when returning after a long days skiing. Staff were fantastic and overall we felt this was excellent value for money and a great place to stay.
