Sun Peaks is our favourite resort in Canada, as is shown by this being our sixth visit here. Despite it apparently being one of the least good years for snow conditions there was still around 2m of pack at the top of the mountain, and because of the scope of options with 3 mountains to choose from, we were never stuck for runs (even when the low cloud meant the very top was out of reach), Some wonderful bluebird days in our second week were fabulous, and as we were leaving they started to get late dumps of snow, which bodes well for the rest of the season. As always the village was welcoming and the atmosphere was great. Loads of food and drink options in the village including the newly opened (and now highly recommended) Italian restaurant, Capone's, as well as the tried and tested Bottoms and Cahilty's, which are the go-to options for that apres drink and vibe! The one disappointment would be that the jovial and friendly lifties have seen themselves largely replaced by automated lift pass machines that let you onto the chair lifts, but there are a few of them around to keep the snow from piling up, and to put a smile on your faces as you embark. A great resort (although don't say it too loudly or everyone will be going there!)

Quite a large resort over three peaks - each served by at least one feeder chair lift. There were many very attractive tree lined runs but some blues would be steep reds in Europe! The lifts were fairly basic compared with European resorts but coped well with the demand mid week. At weekends they were more congested. Piste grooming was good but the weather hadn't been too kind and many of the runs were hard-packed, which made quite a large part of the resort difficult for some of our party. There are no mountain restaurants so you have to go down to the valley to eat and lack of competition means that prices are quite high. Nevertheless we had a great time and would recommend the resort, especially if snow conditions were good in the locality.
