Sun Peaks resort is just amazing. The ideal place if you're looking for a relaxing holiday, but with amazing slopes. The snow is just perfect, the scenery is beautiful. The slopes are not crowded and the perfect place to learn how to ski for kids and adults, they have an excellent school. Lots of activities to do, and I especially recommend dog sledding. The more experts will find a lot to be satisfied with as well. The resort is not very huge and it has everything you need, and people are so friendly. You also get a good choice of restaurants and steaks are superb. I wouldn't be surprised if you'd cry when it is time to leave. I was about to.

Just wanted to let you know that we had a great holiday from start to finish. Katie who is now 6 enjoyed her first skiing lessons and is tackling parallel turns on blue runs (just started doing this). It’s a great place to learn (Big White especially) and the children's ski school is extremely safe with GPS trackers on the children at all times so even in the fog (yes there was plenty of that at Big White) they can still be found. Grocery shopping in Big White (and Sun Peaks) are fine for a holiday. We were worried that the facilities were limited but they are okay (cheaper to do down in Kelowna so pleased we had the option of doing that though).

We spent 7 nights at Sun Peaks in March 2012 and we loved it. The village has a very alpine feel and is really pretty, with the centre pedestrianised which adds to the charm and makes the majority of accommodation ski-in/ski-out. The slopes were extensive and suited our intermediate level of skiing. We had a few dumps of snow during our stay meaning the majority of the time we were skiing on lovely fresh powder. The slopes were tree-lined, with many having trees on the piste which provided small jumps and some variety. We used the ski-guides one morning - they meet at the bottom of Sunburst twice a day (9.15am and 1pm) and will take you on slopes around the mountain, assessing your ability to ensure you are happy. We had a guide to ourselves for the whole morning and he was great - friendly, took us to scenic spots for photos, and showed us some great slopes. This is a free service that's definitely worth taking advantage of! There are a variety of restaurants, of which we found 'Powder Hounds' served tasty meals that were freshly prepared and generous in size. For lunch we discovered Bento's - a cafeteria style restaurant at the base of the Sunburst Express chair lift. Not only was the food excellent value and tasty (particularly the cinnamon buns and daily specials) but they had microwaves for packed lunches, which were welcome. We also enjoyed the cocktails at Massa's bar, next to the bottom of the Sundance lift. The night life could be quiet, which suited us but may not appeal to everyone. We thoroughly enjoyed the non-ski activities provided by the resort, of which there were many. On arrival we were provided with a timetable of activities for the week. We were there during 'March Music Madness' which meant bands were playing at different venues most evenings. We went to a couple of these and they were great, although not very busy. We went on a moonlit snowshoe trail with s'mores which was fabulous, and we met some lovely people on it. We also did a dogsledding tour, driving our own husky sled, which was an incredible experience. We loved our stay at sun peaks and were assured by many Canadians that it is the best resort in Canada, we would love to return in the future
