Visited Silver Star in February 2014 for the fifth time. Stayed at the Firelight lodge this time and this property was the newest and best equipped one we have stayed in. Rooms very very spacious and luxurious...we stayed on the third floor overlooking the skating pond which gave us great views. Arranged for the airport transfer from Kelowna and were met at the airport on time. Front desk staff were very helpful. Used the hot tub every day and met loads of other guests there. Our favourite restaurant was the Den opposite the ski school. Great food..especially the barbecue chicken wings! Would highly recommend this property to everyone...you will not be disappointed!

We had a fantastic trip to Silver Star. The resort is very compact, and staff are extremely friendly. The variety of terrain served a family of 4 intermediates very well and there are endless challenging blacks for the advanced skiers. The slopes are empty (even at weekends) and lift queues non-existent. We'd recommend the resort unreservedly and will almost certainly return. Don't go if you want a lively après ski and nightlife though.

Visited for 3 days in Feb 2009. Fab little resort. Can easily see why it is particularly recommended for families - I have no children and generally avoid them where possible but can equally see that the facilities on offer here are better than average. Stayed in the Snowbird Lodge - v high quality accommodation & genuinely ski in/out: cooker/fridge/dishwasher/sinks in apartment for self-catering with small area with dining table for eating if we had taken that option. Trouble was there were 4 bars/restaurants in the village which each had different styles offering après ski deals or straight forward drinks/meal menus. All well worth visiting. The slopes seemed to be more extensive than the limited acreage suggests - possibly due to the different feel to each of the ski areas. Intermediates will feel that they have travelled around a larger area. On mountain dining is limited - Paradise Camp below the top of Powder Gulch lift is the only option other than returning to the village but gives a good service of basic bulk over quality cooking with booze available if needed. Intermediates or above will become bored after 3 days - I would recommend trying this place as part of a twin centre holiday or a ski safari.
