What can I say but WOW and WOW again. We loved it - have to go back, it is just a fab place to ski and board, but NOT if you are nervous or if your skills are at the lower end. The temperatures were low, -10 mid mountain and -19 at the top. Blue Bird days, but cold. Conditions were interesting and caught your attention. With low temperatures and not much fresh snow for a couple of weeks equalled some very FAST and ICY runs. Some of the blues were so moguled that some of the blacks were easier to ride. Fine once we were aware but led to some colourful language when we came across them rather suddenly. (Not a great fan of mogul fields but our skills certainly improved by the end of the week - when needs must, one just has to up one’s game) But, as a bonus because of the lack of new powder the locals weren’t out to play. There were times when we had runs to ourselves - we were at Revy and had runs all to ourselves, how lucky were we ?? !! Revelstoke has such an incredible vibrant feel, it hits you as soon as you arrive. The staff at the Summit Hotel, the bars, cafe and shops all are so full of energy you can’t help but feed on it and it shows in the huge smiles and the easy way people enter into conversations with each other. It is very noticeable how nearly every one we spoke with commented on how lucky / privileged they were to be there, feelings we shared wholeheartedly. It started snowing Friday, our last day. By early afternoon we were playing in a little powder, not the pillows that Revelstoke is known for but it was still a lot of fun playing over some rollers beside the park and at the edge of some trees.
