We loved everything about Panorama. The ski in ski was amazing, we literally stepped out of our condo and there were the slopes, that combined with vast quiet slopes made it a relaxing ski holiday. It's a great resort to suit all abilities of skiing. The ski school is terrific, my partner, a beginner was fortunate to have 121 tuition on 3 of his morning lessons, the maximum they take in a group lesson is 3. I had a few lessons to improve on my technique and I also had a 121 with an amazing swiss instructor, I had the best morning skiing with her and my technique improved so much. I skied with the Mountain Friends, (free ski guide) they are awesome, so passionate about their mountain and have so much knowledge about it and love to share this with you. We loved soaking our tired joints in the hot baths at the bottom of the slopes. We found there to be just enough good choice of restaurants, we combined this with cooking in the condo. Overall we found the resort to be very friendly and polite, we definitely want to return to Panorama.

Good range of ski runs and terrain. Varied runs and conditions suitable for all abilities. Information updated daily on website and about the resort on groomed runs, conditions and weather. A few runs were closed to general public due to masters and u19 races but this did not negatively impact upon skiing or options available. Given that it was the Easter/Spring break the resort was very quiet. This added positively to the holiday experience with wide-open runs or challenging terrain not overloaded with people. Lift lines were well managed. Unfortunately needed to utilise ski patrol who were prompt and thorough when activated.

Panorama mountain offers something for everyone in terms of skiing and is focusing on expanding its beginner facilities to make it more family-attractive. Its vast expanse means that you never feel crowded on the slopes. Lift passes are comparatively cheap compared to other resorts, but lack flexibility (maybe it's a Canadian thing?), although I do think that ski school prices are on the high side. The only negative of the resort is the very limited selection of places to eat. In general the options are expensive when taking into consideration what they offer. It's an area that the resort has not been able to improve on in the 12 years that I've been going there. I usually self-cater, but that also means taking the bus into Invermere as Panorama's General Store is poorly stocked. A big plus (and one of the main reasons that I keep going back) are the people. The staff are really friendly, and the Mountain Friends hosting service is simply excellent. We did have an issue with desk staff at the ski school, but the manager (Jason) resolved the problem satisfactorily.

You’ll find yourself with Runs to yourself at Panorama, a family friendly atmosphere and ski-out/ski-in accommodation, suitable for all skiers, will challenge beginners but that’s how you progress :) If hiring a car would recommend a pit stop for some food in Banff on the way to resort just to break up the journey a bit! Once again thank you Ski Safari.

So Panorama, my 30th North American ski resort, I've a lot to compare it to! I don't usually ski 7 days in one resort (only previously at Whistler) and when I booked I wasn't sure whether I might get bored. Not at all. I'm a solo traveller for ski trips and decided to ski most days with the Mountain Friends who are volunteers, mostly retired local people. Don't let their age fool you though, these people can ski! You can join groups based on whether you want to ski black, blue or mixed runs and they just take you to the best runs dependent on conditions each day, or in fact where you ask them to go. They also have a beer and socialise at the end of the day, really nice people. I am happy skiing green through to double black diamond runs, especially when the sun is shining as it was every day I was there (1st week in March). No crowds or lift lines whatsoever. Loads of variety to the runs and with snow overnight on a few nights, great conditions. Stayed in the Pine Inn which is not the height of luxury but clean, comfortable and perfectly ok. Dining options are fairly limited and typical fare for North American ski resorts. Food was good quality though and reasonably priced. Lets be honest though you don't go to ski in North America for the dining options, you go for the snow quality, access all areas inbounds and the laid back friendly vibe. The 4 hour evening drive from Calgary airport is a bit of a drag after a long flight so you may want to consider an overnight airport hotel stop, but the day time drive back to the airport via Banff allows you to see the stunning scenery. I met so many people who return to Panorama time and again, and many first timers who said they would be back. I highly recommend this resort. Oh and as usual Ski Safari organised everything perfectly including a day trip to Kicking Horse (I've been there before, don't consider it unless you want to ski a lot of the time on double black diamond runs).

I wish to thank Ski Safari and all at Panorama for the most amazing ski holiday I have experienced, this has to be the top of my list of ski experiences. This was my second visit to Panorama, and I chose to return here as I was skiing on my own this year due to the experience I had last year knowing that it was “ski in ski out” a compact resort and there were the “Mountain Friends” to ski with. Ski Safari secured me a “studio” in Panorama Springs, good accommodation, and check in and the services provided from the Guest Lodge were superb, efficient with a friendly welcome and so helpful when my card wouldn’t work to get in my room during my stay. The skiing conditions and perfectly groomed slopes were exceptional this year giving not only periods of sunshine but fresh powder and with the friendly Panorama Mountain Friends to guide you round the slopes what more could you want? The Mountain Friends are an asset to the Resort finding the very best of the areas each day for skiing for their guests. The voluntary service they provide is second to none and it was this that gave me the security of being able to ski “on my own”. Their service encourages a friendly environment within the groups which spills over to the lunchtime breaks and of course the Après ski in the T-bar!! There is a choice of venues on the slopes for lunchtime snacks, hot drinks and even “Gluhwein” and the Golf course is also open for lunch and easily accessible from the slopes. This is one of the most friendliest, well organised, compact resorts I have experienced in over 30 years of skiing with superb access to the slopes and a wide variety of skiing. Well done Ski Safari and Panorama and I look forward to visiting you again next year……………
