The ski area is relatively small, but Kimberley ski holidays offer a good range of terrain with plenty for beginners and intermediates and some surprisingly challenging runs.

The recent expansion of Cranbrook airport and better flight connections from the UK have hugely improved access to Kimberley, which is just 20 minutes from the airport.

The atmosphere is local and friendly and the cost of accommodation and skiing is very reasonable. There are one or two lively bars on the mountain, notably Kelsey's in the Marriott and the Bavarian-style town of Kimberley nearby has further apres-ski options, many specialising in German dishes.

"Great for families and those with perhaps a week or two's ski experience, Kimberley is perfect for a small, friendly and hassle-free ski holiday. Also works as a stop-off on a ski safari through the Rockies."

Customer Reviews

What our customers say about Kimberley.

Kimberley is a lovely resort. You can stay in ski in/ski out accommodation and still have easy access to the town, either by an hours walk or by using the free shuttle bus which runs regularly.

Kimberley is a small family resort. We only had 3 days skiing here but we didn’t get bored. Not much to do in the evenings but the accommodation is condo style and comfortable.

Much wider area and range of terrain than you would think from the lift map. Main criticism is that the lifts are very slow.

The Trickle Creek Lodge is a very new looking hotel right by the lifts. The room was amazing! Up on the 4th floor with a balcony, kitchen, huge fridge, microwave, cooker... etc. The only thing that was missing was pots and pans for actually being able to cook something in your room. Having said that, the Montana's had the best steak we had in Canada. Again lockers were conveniently located on the …

As a resort we coined the phrase 'Flaine - without the charm'. Even so, we enjoyed our couple of days in Kimberley. It had the feel of hill where local Canadians come to ski. If we'd flown from the UK and didn't go any where else we'd have been disappointed. But a good stop-over from Banff/Lake Louise to Montana.
