Banff was quieter than when we last visited a few years ago, which meant that Sunshine in particular was also less busy, especially during the week. For something different, we highly recommend a day's cat skiing/boarding at Fortress.

Excellent. Plenty of variety when it came to choosing where to eat. (Too much choice which means we may have to return!) I liked the fact that everyday there was a different deal somewhere. Extremely easy to navigate around with the option to catch the bus after a long day on the mountain. Overall a nice vibe with friendly people. Banff has a great selection of bars, restaurants and shops. It's home to the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel which is magical for a cocktail with a view. Banff has easy access to the 'big 3' ski resorts.

Skied/boarded mainly at Sunshine which is great fun: excellent conditions and lots of vatiery. Unlike everyone else in the world prefer Sunshine to Lake Louise but skied Louise on the way to Banff from Kicking horse, which worked perfectly. Thanks to Kirsten for arranging for our passes to be waiting there for us.

Both Lake Louise and Banff exceeded our optimistic expectations by a long way. Snow was fantastic, top to bottom of mountain.

This is my 5th trip to Banff and the mainstreet shops are getting a bit tacky. We took a trip in to Canmore and its mainstreet is kind of how Banff used to be. Loved the trip to the museum and upper hot springs. Had an excellent days skiing in Kicking horse and conquered Stairway to Heaven. Mental!!!

As usual we gave Norquay a miss but conditions at both Sunshine and Lake Louise were perfect although very very cold and we had an absolute blast on pretty empty slopes.

A little phased at first by the ski bus system and the need to commute to the different mountains. However, you soon get over that and just enjoy ski anywhere conditions and some great bars and food. Restaurants in Banff itself are extremely good and it is without doubt the friendliest place I have ever been. Probably because it is hard to get angry about stuff at minus 20!
