Kicking Horse is quickly developing into a great ski resort. New properties at the mountain base mean that you can now stay on-mountain in brand new accommodation. Eagle's Eye restaurant at the top of the mountain is one of the best in Canada, and there are a couple of other places at the base area to eat and drink. Further evening entertainment and accommodation options are available in the town of Golden, a 15 minute drive away.
The skiing here is awesome with a vertical drop of over 4,000ft, and a top to bottom run that will have your legs begging for mercy. The terrain is varied and there are runs to suit all abilities, but the resort's true pull is for expert skiers. Wide open bowls, natural chutes and glades smothered with a reliable 25 feet of powder snow combine to make a great skiers' resort.
Shuttles - There are shuttles running from Calgary Airport and Banff/Lake Louise to Kicking Horse - please ask for details. There is also a shuttle between hotels in Golden and the ski hill.
Ski the Powder Highway
There is a transfer on Wednesdays between the 16 January and 26 March linking the following resorts: Kicking Horse, Panorama, Kimberley and Fernie. This enables you to ski 2 or more resorts (depending on the length of your stay) without the need to hire a car.
