A lovely hotel with facilities that we didn't even get the chance to use! ( inc. Gym, Spa)The skiing was so good! Everything is so easy from ski storage to inclusive covered parking across from the hotel. We had a studio which again had everything we needed and daily room service if you needed a top up of anything. We had complimentary breakfast which more than met our expectations. Literally you could have as much as you needed with cooked breakfasts, eggs or omelette cooked to your request. Refills of coffee and fresh orange offered. The staff were so attentive and helpful we couldn't fault anything. The bar was reasonably priced even before happy hour 3-6 but the poolside bistro bar a bit more pricey! Lots of comfortable places to sit if you didn't want to be in your room or the bar. An easy shuttle ski service to downtown Steamboat so we didn't need to use the hotels.

Pleased to say we have re booked to go back to the Steamboat Grand Hotel for next year's ski season for January 2017 for 3 weeks. This will be our fourth consecutive years holiday at the steamboat Grand and really looking forward to return. We really feel at home in this hotel, the staff are the same as when we first went 4 years ago which is rare within this industry - they are friendly and fulfil all of our requirement without being to stuffy and over the top. When it come to the rooms expect plenty of space, we have had several different sized rooms depending on the size of party but for example last year we had a one bedroom condo which could if you required would sleep up to six people. You have a full sized kitchen complete with large American fridge freezer, hob, oven , grill, microwave, dishwasher and ample counter space. The lounge is all open plan with large dinning table with bench wrap around seating and stand chairs for 6-8 people, sofa bed, lovely fireplace, TV, coffee table, sleep benches at either side of fireplace which make two single sleeping areas - the deco is a typical rustic feel that fits very well with the surroundings. The bedroom was roomy with ample wardrobe and storage space which is essential with all the ski clobber! The separate bathroom has double sinks, bath with shower over, hairdryer and toiletries. The condo has daily a cleaning service which is quick and efficient and staff are always ready for a friendly joke and banter. We have always taken the option of breakfast which is a great start to the day and lots of options are available - recommend this!! After a hard day skiing what more could you ask for than a relax in one of the two huge hot tubs that are outdoors but heated well and the jets are pretty powerful for those aching muscles. There is also a medium size pool. Indoors there is the facilities of a steam room and a sauna, which are both very welcoming. There are changing facilities with showers, hairdryers, toiletries, toilet and swimwear drying machine. There is a gym but didn't use as the skiing was enough for us!!! If you're looking for "Happy Hour" after a tough day skiing then you won't beat the steamboat Grand, it's is from 4pm - 6pm and has the cheapest deals around and good quality wines, expect the get a large glass of wine for $4.00 and it's good!!! Draught Beers ( they even have Guinness) and wine are all half price. Bar snacks from a limited menu are all half price also during the happy hour, which ranges from Chicken wings, tacos, Wedges, ribs, etc changes daily. The steamboat Grand also offers a shuttle service from midday which you can go anywhere around steamboat, they will even take you to the larger supermarkets downtown and pick you up, restaurants are all accessible with the Seville of the shuttle, head downtown and when you have finished the restaurant will ring the Grand and arrange a pick up! Brilliant - love this service. Even though this is a very large hotel you still get that personal service that comes with a 4 * Hotel, the location couldn't be nearer, just across the road to the Gondola and amenities. There is on site ski/ boot storage or you can leave nearer the gondola- there are options available. The only negatives I can think of are that we can't stay longer, but will definitely be returning year after year. Keep up the great work.

The Steamboat Grand has a great location, good facilities and the staff couldn't be more helpful. We stayed B&B and the breakfast was plentiful; it's amazing how much better you feel on the slopes after a hearty breakfast. The studio rooms have a slightly bizarre layout (bed opposite the kitchenette) but they're very comfortable and have everything you could need. The free shuttle is a great service; between that and the free local buses, transport around the town and resort is effortless.
