I would definately recommend Steamboat as a family destination. The slopes were varied but not too difficult or worrying for children. People were extremely friendly. I loved the fact everything was very near to each other so you did not have to trek for miles with ski equipment.

We stayed at the Steamboat Grand which is in a perfect location for the ski slopes. We went with our two young children and it was great not having to catch a bus to the ski slopes everyday. Absolutely incredible resort. The mountain is fantastic, huge variety of terrain plus you can always find some powder somewhere. It is never busy, queuing for a lift is a rarity and the locals are really friendly.

A lot of development, quite a few of the lifts had no safety device which was a big deal for my wife and might be for children, skiing was excellent, provision for eating during the day was limited.

The condo was stunning and had plenty of hanging space. The decor was tasteful with just a hint of the wild west about it, the rooms were generous in size with luxury fittings throughout and the beds were very comfortable. The pool a…
