Timberline is a small resort which is also pretty flat mainly but when the sun comes out has stunning views & some hiking possibilities - long hikes though! 2 days is more than enough to cover everything at this resort. Considering how small it is seems odd that they don't run the drag lift up to the top when the weather is good (I hiked about 3/4 of it in 40 minutes) & they have big chunks shut for park building with what look like Pro size jumps. Would be a good place to learn to ride or ski as lots of mellow runs to practice on. Mt Hood Meadows was about a 30 minute drive from Timberline Lodge & is a much bigger resort than Timberline & much steeper. It literally is the other side of Mt Hood as when we got to the top we could see Timberline Lodge. Was pretty tracked out the day we went but there were lots of good long cruisers, parks & natural half pipes to try out. Day pass was $99 when bought on the day at resort.

Mt. Hood - We were fortunate that it snowed quite a lot every day we were there so every hill Hood ski bowl - was the closest and smallest of the three, fairly basic and more of a 'locals hill'. Amenities were basic but ok. The chairlifts were the old two seat style and not the most comfortable. Tickets were cheap, but as the other two hills were so close by, it needed to be. The hill only opened during the evenings during the week and the night boarding was good. Timberline - A great small hill, the lodge was excellent and provided a good choice of food and services. Probably my favourite lodge/base area of the trip. Parking was pretty close by. The runs were fairly short but were good fun. Got to have a quick look at the hotel as well. Meadows - The best hill in hill in Mt. Hood in my opinion, bigger and with more variety in runs. It's the furthest from Government Camp (20mins drive) but still easy to find and parking was very close. The base area was good and gave plenty of choice in food options.

Mt Hood was fab. Really good fun mellow runs with a few steeps and some bumps and trees to play in. We were very lucky with the snow - 10 inches of fresh snow on our first day there and it continued to snow at some point every day. Loved the night skiing, never done it before. It was like a Disney Wonderland back drop - snow on the trees and the flood lighting creating a Christmas card scene and to top it off a light fall of fresh snow.
