Summary

This is a property with a difference - every year it’s built from scratch making it truly unique each time. The crystal clear ice is taken from the waters of the local river Torne. It’s used to create the hotel and also exported all over the world to the famous ICEBAR® in London, Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Istanbul. The hotel has its range of rooms available for viewing during the day. The Art Suites and Deluxe room are works of art in their own right. Each is expertly sculpted following an individual theme that has been painstakingly designed and created. These are available for over night stays along with the simpler snow and ice rooms. With an ICEBAR® and chapel there’s a room for every occasion.

Newly opened in December 2016, the Icehotel 365 offers a year-round ice experience - the permanent building has a refrigerated interior which allows 20 suites, the ICEBAR® and an ice art gallery to withstand the warmer temperatures of spring and summer. Strangely enough it feels colder than the temporary ICEHOTEL itself - the insulating effects of snow are counteracted by the temperature control! There are two room types in the Icehotel 365 - Deluxe Suites and Art Suites - and the Deluxe Suites have ensuite (heated) bathrooms with saunas.

Absolutely stunning place. The tour guide was very enthusiastic and passionate about the art. Plenty of time to look around the art rooms and chapel. We were offered other excursions but were had plenty to do in our time there. They provided over-suits to keep us warm which were very useful in the evening and night when it was -14 outside. We were able to upgrade at a reduced rate as there were spaces in the deluxe rooms. Lovely nights stay in 'Kiss', private bathroom with sauna and bath was an added bonus. Bottle of champagne included was a great touch. The bar was nice, not many places to sit and drinks served in ice glasses is great. Very comfortable bed and sleeping bag was plenty warm. We saw the aurora lights from just outside the bar which was fantastic! Lovely wake up call with hot drink and breakfast at the restaurant was very nice, great selection. Nice diploma for surviving the night to on check out.
