Gaustablikk Fjellresort is nestled in the heart of the up-and-coming Gausta Ski Resort, in a peaceful location overlooking frozen lakes and the majestic Gaustatoppen mountain.
The striking views begin on the scenic drive through forests and past waterfalls and frozen lakes and only continue once you arrive at the hotel. We'd highly recommend upgrading your room to the Gaustatoppen side, but even if you don't, the restaurants, bar and terrace all look out to the impressive 1,883m mountain.
Or for the best seat in the resort, step into one of the floating saunas with panoramic views and warm up before diving into the frozen lake. It's a classic Norwegian experience that shouldn't be missed!
The hotel's owners take pride in high levels of service and guest experience and that's felt throughout. The hotel was fully refurbished in 2021 with modern and comfortable rooms and a distinctly Scandinavian feel. Rooms range from cosy doubles up to suites and family rooms, plus connecting rooms for families with older children.
Food and drink are a highlight in Gausta. There's a superb brasserie restaurant, a cosy bar & lounge and an impressive wine list - led by a skilled sommelier, the hotel is on its way to building a world-class wine cellar!
Gaustablikk Fjellresort boasts a full complement of facilities including a pool with steam room, sauna and jacuzzi, shuffleboard and table tennis and a kids' room filled with toys and activities to entertain the little ones.
There's on-site ski storage while the lifts, rentals and ski school are a minute's walk or ski away, along with a ski restaurant, the afterski and one of the best bakeries we've ever eaten in.
