Loads of skiing, most within trees, caters for all abilities, welcoming and friendly resort, the Radisson Blu was excellent.

A fantastic family ski resort, great for beginners to skilled skiers.

View from the ski lift at Trysil, Norway - Bryce Wilkinson - December 2022
It's a medium sized resort (large for Scandanavia) where the main ski area is accessed by the Radisson Blue Resort Hotel. It is easy to get to via the ski bus from Oslo, although this only runs a few times a day and you may have to wait a while to get the next bus. There are large selection of slopes to cater for all, although only half were open when we were there over Christmas.

Trysil was busier than the other Norwegian resorts we have visited but we all had a fantastic time. The snow was great and there was plenty for a family of varying abilities to do.

It is getting more difficult to review Trysil with every year we travel there because it feels more and more a second home. There is always something to do on the mountain for every level of skier. We visited Trysil three times already and maybe will come back again.

Lovely hotel and nice ski runs lifting system just lacking a proper “village” feel.

Great resort for family skiing. Plenty of snow in April and quiet on the slopes when you go outside of Norwegian school holidays. The only downside to the resort in April is that there is very limited choices for eating out. Many restaurants and bars only open during the day and close before 5pm. So would recommend considering self catering or half-board. Otherwise a really lovely place with lot…

Great snow and almost perfect skiing in a very safe environment.

The resort is excellent for beginner and intermediate skiers, with incredible snow, wide open pistes and no queues. While perhaps not having the range of slopes of the Alps, it's far less crowded and a great place to enjoy skiing amongst the pine trees.
