Trysil is a well laid out resort with most accommodation having easy access to restaurants, a supermarket, coffee shops and the Raddison Blue hotel facilities which everyone can use. We stayed in the Midgard apartments which are brand new builds, very comfortable, warm and have all the facilities you would need for self catering. The ski area has plenty of runs from greens to blacks which are not overcrowded like alps resorts and its true about the no wait ski lifts! The runs are well kept, no lumps and bumps and I must say the night skiing is a definite if you've not tried it before. I must say we were shocked when we got up the first morning to find it -20c but its a dry cold and providing you wrap up well, protect the face and wear glove liners it wasn't a big problem. Our flight was from Manchester, 2hrs and the local daily bus service to resort was like clockwork taking just over 2hrs to travel. Key pick up, ski's and lift pass are all sorted for you, everything went so smooth and a big thank you to Ski Safari for all the arrangements. Yes Norway is expensive for food and drink compared to the alps but we were prepared for that and over the week I thought our spend was very reasonable. Don't forget Norway is cashless so bring a credit or bank card that doesn't charge fees! We would definitely return maybe trying a different resort are as well, the locals all spoke perfect English and as so welcoming which is such a plus. Bring on next year.

Lots of varied skiing- great for a whole family trip when the kids are now getting good. Very easy ski from door. Lovely and quiet(we went out of Norway school hols). Ski school was really good with lovely instructor and the 3 hour lesson gave the adults chance to really enjoy some skiiing away from the children as well, Not much going on in the "village" in the evening, but that was fine for us as we were ready for bed- if you want a lively night life though it's not the place to go!
