Would stay there again. Resort set up was great but you have to like t-bars!!

The resort was fantastic for ski in ski out. We could go out straight from the patio doors of our lounge onto the nursery slopes. there was just enough ski-ing/snow boarding to keep our 3 teenage boys/young men occupied for the 4 days we had there which we had combined with 3 days in Oslo. The resort is under new managemtent and apparently plans are in hand for a new lift to be fitted - there are a lot of t-bar lifts which are always a challenge for snow boarders. You do need to go prepared for self catering even if half board. There is no shop in the resort only a few necessities that you can buy at reception. The gym and swimming pool was good, the food choice for breakfast plentiful and for evening good. In hindsight we would probably have preferred to take a longer journey from Oslo to go to Geilo where we have been before and the hotel and food and ski-ing facilities are better for us. Both myself and my husband couldn't ski due to knee problems and we realised that in addition to the ability to snow shoe it would have been good if we could have walked into a village with shops, cafes etc. From the conversations our boys had with the instructors it does sound as though there will be considerable investment in this resort over the next few years.

Very good. Comments: The main hotel was good with everything we'd need. Buffet breakfast and dinner was varied and good. Lovely and relaxing areas, the spa was fantastic addition and we used it every afternoon. My only negative comments are: 1) the waiting staff at dinner were pushing 'expensive drink upgrades' . For example on Xmas Eve dinner we were offered a local Norwegian Aquavit. It wasn't until after the dinner that it transpired this was not a complimentary Christmas drink, but that we'd have to pay for it (at £10/shot) which was certainly not the way it was positioned, 2) Also, having spent a lot of money on the hotel over 4 days, they cheekily asked for a further £20 to secure a late check-out. This was waived, but only after I had a bit of a complaint about it.
