SkiStar Lodge Alpin Customer Reviews

The Alpin lodge apartments are a modern block managed by SkiStar with apartments, ski hire, restaurant/bar, well-stocked ski shop and supermarket all in one place. It sounds very clinical but it was clean, highly efficient and extremely convenient. We had pre-booked the ski equipment and another QR code was needed to scan into a machine to deliver the ski passes for a week ( conveniently in the reception area). The studio apartment was ideal with an oven / microwave, fridge, dishwasher, double cutlery and crockery, a shower room and balcony overlooking the slopes. Each apartment had a ski Locker downstairs with the same access key as the room. We waited until Monday morning to pick up skis and boots but however tired you might be it was quiet on Sunday evening and it took no time as they were pre prepared.

The Lodge is a great ski in - ski out resort - the accommodation is of a good standard - we had a 3 roomed apartment that could have slept 8 – 2 rooms had a double bed with a single bunk bed above and one was a straight double – all the beds were pretty comfy to - (a bit tight if there had been 8 of us but as there were 4 adults it was just right), 2 bathrooms and a sauna were included. Under floor heating and a gas fire made it toasty warm. The kitchen contents leave a bit to be desired however we coped well enough eg there were 3 ladles but no strainer of any sort, a frying pan but no spatula and a few other quirky things. Ski hire and kit lockers for all the gear are on the ground floor – up a ramp and a few steps to the back of and you’re at the bottom of the slopes with the ski lifts a short shuffle away. This was my first time skiing and I thoroughly enjoyed it – I even managed a couple of blue runs at the end.
