The hotel is beautifully designed and the lobby and large indoor balconies are amazing spaces. There were plenty of indoor games, table tennis, fuzzball, giant chess etc to amuse us all during the evenings. We were staying half board and the food was excellent, but the lunch and dinner selection was limited and there was no daily variation. The hotel is recently opened and while the staff are enthusiastic and trying their best as individuals, they still have a long way to go to provide the service expected in such a luxury hotel. Service at lunch and dinner was patchy at best. We had prebooked skis and boots in the hotel rental shop but we all had trouble with sizes as the selection was poor. In the end we had to rent different skis and boots at the ski centre. The hotel ski rental only opened for a couple of hours each morning and afternoon. The hotel rooms were comfortable and quirky but tiny. I would suggest that there are several things in each room that could be removed, plastic plant, tiny round side table, oversized armchair, photo of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall in drag over every bed (not joking) that would leave slightly more room to move around. Even the bedside table tops were completely filled with oversized lamps. It was as if all the furniture was designed for a much larger room. There was nowhere to unpack into and we had to leave our clothes in suitcases all week.There was no heated towel rail in the bathroom, so to dry wet gloves etc after skiing, we were forced to turn up the underfloor heating in the bathroom and spread our wet things across the bathroom floor. The lighting in the hotel in general could be described as atmospheric, but in the boot room it was so dim it was difficult to see into the lockers. We had problems at check in with a room mix up and problems at check out where we were billed for many items belonging to somebody else.
