Large hotel with long and interesting history and decor to match. Reputation built very much on this history. Good size room but very small shower room needed a refurb. Food a little fussy sometimes bordering on pretentious although the weekend buffet was excellent. There was a decent ski room but no boot dryer.Excellent location with great a view.

Don't miss the roof top hot tub- amazing place to soak after skiing! Xmas buffet a real treat but otherwise hotel food was adequate rather than amazing. Kids enjoyed waffle iron for breakfast though and if you can afford it the wine tasting menu is a pleasant way of making the evening special ... The rooms are modest but clean and quiet. Very much a family place rather than a romantic couple vibe.

The hotel was fabulous. The staff were extremely friendly and always tried to be helpful. The only negative comment I would make is that they were not particularly knowledgeable about Geilo, or even the hotel itself.
