A great resort with plenty to do on and off the slopes. The hotel was lovely with friendly staff and amazing food. The skiing was great with something for everyone. The slopes were never too busy and we hardly queued for a lift. Be aware there are T bars and pommas as well as two chairlifts.
Gaustaski centre was great for a lunch break or after skiing with a fantastic bakery and Stova for pizzas.

Very small, all services close at hand. Picturesque. Skiing great for families but may be not for adult beginners.

Gausta is a calm and beautiful haven, albeit the lifts can get busy when not all runs are open. We enjoyed the option of so many walking trails as a nice alternative when the slopes felt crowded. We also made use of the free bus to go to Gaustatoppen and into Rjukan to the museum there.

Stunningly pretty resort set amongst the trees. There are quiet, wide-open runs and hardly any lift queues. We had snow most days and some great off-piste powder. Possibly the best resort I have been to.

Great resort. The ski area is not huge, but it provided excellent skiing for the week, with well managed and quite pistes and no lift queues!

The Gausta resort is beautifully located at the foot of Gaustatoppen, the highest mountain in the Telemark range. The slopes offered ideal conditions for skiers of all levels, with stunning views, uncrowded lifts and several great cafes at various points at the foot of the runs, and a convenient shuttle bus running between them.

Gausta is a beautiful small, mindfully developed resort with a spa hotel at its centre, other hotels and a lot of cabin chalets around. It offers a range of ski experiences (alpine, nordic, snowshow) with a focus towards the alpine learner. Excellent ski school, lift/queuing times and runs for a ski trip. A few bars and restaurants, but not extensive retail or other leisure. Perfect for a focused …
