This was our second stay at the Radisson Blu in Beitostolen. It is everything we would want from a ski hotel. Large, comfortable, clean, practical, plentiful good food, good rooms, good service, stunning views on both sides, and best of all, a genuine stone's throw from the 2 main ski lifts. There is a large lobby with a stone floor. They are used to skiers walking in and out with ski boots. Not a problem. There is a big open fire in the lobby, and some comfortable sofas. There is a piano bar on the same level of the lobby. There is also a very big bar downstairs, where they play live music. Warning! Because of the exchange rate, the prices were excruciating for us! The cheapest bottle of wine in the restaurant was 395 kr (equiv £50). A glass of wine in the restaurant was 91 kr (equiv £11.50). We went to a nearby bar and paid £15 for a glass of wine. Prices in the supermarket were also very steep. A bag of jelly sweets £4. A packet of biscuits £3. Our room was very comfortable, very well decorated, spacious, excellent under floor heating, and heavenly views over the mountains. Breakfast is plentiful and varied. The evening meals were variable. The evenings where there was a set menu consisted of high quality cuisine. However, the 'buffet' evenings were a bit of a scram, and the food more ordinary (lasagne, burgers, etc) Stayed February 2013, traveled as a couple.
