lots of small hills easily accessed from village - very international olympic legacy - highly organised offering from the tourism companies

We loved it! Hakuba is very spread out and you need to take buses and shuttles around but they work great!

Happo One in the Hakuba Valley has all you need for a ski trip. Easy access to numerous other ski areas. We loved Iwatake. Plenty of shuttle bus options. Geared towards an Australian market, though lots of other nationalities, Happo didn't really feel like Japan! Possibly because we had toured around for the previous 2 weeks. Excellent amount of areas to ski in and abundant snow whilst we were there. Easy to reach and lovely people facilitating all aspects of the ski resort

Elisabeth Robinson - Hakuba Mountains
What a beautiful area. And it was great to have a choice of resorts, (11 no less), albeit one or two were worth a one or half day trip - but then we just spent the other half of the day somewhere else given that no resort was more than 20 minutes from town.

A surprisingly quiet resort for late March skiing where everyone is friendly and helpful. We stayed in Happo Slopeside apartments, which were new and spacious. The apartment was 100 metres from the gondola and it was possible to ski back to the apartment.

Despite only moderate snow, the breadth of the Hakuba valley area meant we could seek out best conditions, and had a wonderful week. Resort itself had great eating / drinking facilities.

It was a poor season for Japan but despite a few runs being thin there was a great variety. We stayed at Hakuba Happo and visited Hakuba 47 and Cortina by bus. We enjoyed exploring the different areas each with their own character. Happo was the bigger area but Cortina had a charm and some challenging runs.
