Fantastic staff - very friendly and helpful. Great dining facilities and bar. Staff provided shuttle bus services also, even taking us to and picking us up from a restaurant about 1.5 miles away.

Hotel Goryukan is a comfortable mid range spacious hotel within a few minutes walk of a Happo chair lift and is also close to bus stops for other areas. We found Echoland was the best area to go to. It's about 20 minute walk to the bus station (where there is an ATM) and the Lawson store for beer and snacks. The staff were exceptional and went beyond the call of duty to help out when my bag arrived damaged (one of the staff took it away to repair it herself). The restaurant, bar, and food were all excellent. The room was very clean comfortable but had no frills.

I loved the place, very close to the ski slopes, had all the facilities that I would have expected and very good. Traditional Japanese room with an on site onsen, staff and owners were very helpful and accommodating.

The hotel is a short walk from the Hakuba 1 lifts and offers free transit within the village (e.g. to pick up hired skis). An excellent choice.

We enjoyed our stay at the Goryukan which is a good 4* hotel and would recommend it. We had a Japanese room which was spacious and clean but I did miss not having any chairs to sit on in the room. The kettle was filled each day and the heated toilet seat was a pleasant surprise! The breakfasts were nice and the chef would cook you an omelette or fried egg as needed.
