Tucked between the Canadian Rockies and the beautiful Purcell Mountains, RK Heliski is situated at Panorama Mountain Village. Founded in 1970, it's one of the longest-running heli-ski operations in the world and is also one of the highest. The high elevation of the terrain means very few down days - only two per year on average - but also a huge vertical.
While some heli-ski operations only cater for expert skiers, what sets RK apart is that it makes heli-skiing accessible for all. As long as you are reasonably fit and are comfortable on blue runs (and some black) then you should be able to join a group - you don't even need off-piste or powder experience! No matter your ability, you'll be grouped with similar skiers and boarders, so you don't have to worry about hanging around or playing catch-up.
With over 120 landings and more than 900 runs available across 1,500 square kilometres of spectacular terrain, every day at RK is unique. You will enjoy vast virgin slopes surrounded by scenic glaciers, or skiing un-traced powder on gladed tree runs in the pristine and breathtaking Purcell Mountains.
A day's heli-skiing is a great add on to a Panorama holiday or a Rockies Ski Safari. Day trips to RK are also run out of Banff and Lake Louise so it is easy to organise if the conditions look good - there are local offices or we can pre-book it for you.
