Using the helicopter as your private lift and a certified mountain guide to find the best snow in this huge expanse of mountains is nothing short of an incredible experience. The mountains in the area close to Riksgränsen offer 700-1,000 metres of vertical or, when you fly to the more remote areas of Mårma and Kebnekaise, you can access up to 1,500 metres vertical.
The terrain ranges from easy to challenging across more than 100 peaks. Close to Riksgränsen you'll find terrain suitable for red and black run skiers while the more remote areas like Kåtotjocka/Mårma or Kebnekaise require prior off piste-skiing experience. All guides are certified UIAGM/IFMGA mountain guides who provide the highest level of security in terms of skiing and helicopter transport.
Itinerary
All skiers and riders in the group are provided with an avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe (plus a rope and harness for glacier terrain if needed) from Mountain Guide Travel's base at the Riksgränsen Hotel. You'll then be taken to the heli pad which is a five minute shuttle ride away.
Flying time to the ski area takes between 20 and 40 minutes depending on which area you have chosen. The helicopter flies up to two rotations at the same time to maximise ski time for the cost and each rotation takes a maximum of two groups. As a result, if you are in the second group you may need to wait up to 40 minutes for the pickup at end of day so we recommend taking an extra layer in your pack.
After your last run, you'll be dropped back to the heli pick-up zone and taken back to the Riksgränsen Hotel.
