We love Whistler as a resort. The ski slopes are lovely and wide and well groomed. The resort is really big so plenty of runs to explore. The ski school is really good. Even while skiing in a group lesson the instructors focus on individuals to improve their technique. Customer service is excellent everywhere. The village has a wide selection of shops and restaurants. All of this does come at a cost but early season skiing is cheaper and we had great snow the 10 days up to Christmas.

Whistler resort was absolutely amazing. A skiers paradise!

We have been coming to Whistler for the last 15 years. When you have everything you need on your doorstep, why would you go somewhere else! We like to stay in the village near to the lifts so that we don’t have to walk far in our ski boots. We have stayed at the Pan-Pacific Mountainside for the last four years and cannot fault the place, the rooms are condos and have kitchen facilities and there is an apres ski every day where you can get a free drink and nibbles. It is above the Dubhlin Gate pub and well in the mix of things. There is loud music on an afternoon from the village (Longhorn Saloon) but it stops early so no one is disturbed late on. We love the vibe from a distance!! The hotel has an outdoor pool, two Jacuzzis, a steam room and a gym which are great after a day on the mountain. There is also has a laundry room which is cheap and the machines are huge so you can get everything washed and dried before you leave. The village is awash with amazing shops and restaurants. There is something to meet all budgets and booking with Safari, having the added extra of vouchers towards meals is really great. The travel up from the airport takes approximately 2 1/2 hours but by the time you leave the bright lights of Vancouver most people on the bus are asleep so it doesn’t feel too long and the return journey is very picturesque so plenty to keep you occupied. The lift passes are quite expensive so we generally get a season pass which works out cheaper but it gives you access to such a vast ski area where there is something to suit all abilities. Each mountain has a ski park, theres a slalom where you can race someone else and sometimes there are kids races in progress which are fun to watch. The mountains are linked by the Peak to Peak gondola but there are also runs to get from one to the other in case you don’t like heights! There is the Fire and Ice show every Sunday which is spectacular, not to mention Cows ice cream in the village, which is the best I have ever tasted in my life - Gooey Mooey, oh wow!! We call Canada our second home, the people are lovely. The area is so well maintained and clean and there is something for everybody. When not on the mountain there is the Scandinavian spa, art galleries, leisure centre, skidoo trips, dog slaying, sledging and lots of other things to name but a few. It is very child and family friendly but also good for groups and couples. I have never seen one bit of trouble. Everybody is always so polite and courteous it is a dream resort and we will be back. I would 100% recommend Whistler, the Pan Pacific Mountainside, and also the flights with British Airways.
