5* Fairmont Tremblant

Wow! Fantastic location meaning you only needed to carry your skis past about 25 metres of poolside pathway to ski down to the lifts. The convenience of checking in the skis with the ski valet each afternoon was second to none too. We had a condo. This was great, well thought out and in good condition, with a view of the gondola and slope into town. The kitchen was fully appointed with a decent cooker and 4 ring electric hob, microwave, large fridge freezer and a dishwasher. The ice machine, soft drink vending machine and laundry (with coin operated top loading washer and separate tumble drier) located near the lifts was also a very convenient addition. The indoor spa is excellent with a shallow pool for swimming lengths, small sauna, hot tub and a steam room in each of the men’s and women’s changing rooms. These have free lockers, showers, shampoo and hairdryer. The 24 hour gym is well appointed and very clean with up to date equipment that seems well maintained. We used it every day and never needed to wait for access to the equipment we wanted or had any problem operating it. The outdoor pools next to the slopes are fabulous too and always had a member of staff present during opening times. We used all of the dining options in the Fairmont and found each to be excellent. Breakfast in le Comptoir is attentive and the full buffet is a very fair price for the wide selection available. Also, the extended times (7:00 to 11) that breakfast is available in the restaurant made a really relaxing and welcome change to many places we’ve stayed. Axe bar has a great adult environment with a concise but good quality menu for both eating and drinking. Dining in the bistro, Choux Gras, was a lovely, extravagant way to end our trip. All the food was very good indeed but it is a higher price option - particularly the extensive wine list. The Ricochet cafe by the ski valets and pools is also a very convenient place to grab a coffee or bite as you head off in the morning or need a spot of perking up during the day. Overall it would be difficult to fault the Fairmont and we loved our stay.
