New York is a great city to explore on foot as you'll see so much more. The best place to stay is around mid-town east, keeping you close to Times Square and the Theatre District, plus this is not far from 5th Avenue where you can have 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'! Originally called 'New Amsterdam', Wall Street and the Financial District was the first, and remains the most, historic district dating back to the 17th Century. While you are here, paying your respects at Ground Zero is a very moving experience.

Must-see landmarks are of course Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge, the Rockefeller Centre, the Flatiron Building, the Empire State Building & Botanical Gardens to name a few. A trip to Greenwich Village is also a must. Head to Bleecker Street where you’ll see some of the most expensive townhouses in the city and an eclectic mix of shops, bars, and music clubs. The areas of Soho and Tribeca, much like London’s East End, have been transformed into a bustling urban mecca over recent years, with galleries, designer shops, trendy bars and restaurants, all of which have become very popular with tourists.
