California’s largest resort (if you include the runs that spill into Nevada), Heavenly’s slopes also descend into Nevada. The resort receives more than 300 days of sunshine each year and, over the years, our team have had some fantastic fun on Heavenly ski holidays.
The extensive terrain includes serene tree skiing and gentle beginner slopes, along with the challenging Gun Barrel moguls. The lake and desert views are incredible and, with several other resorts around Lake Tahoe, you can ski up to seven on your lift pass, making this a great base for an affordable self-drive ski safari.
Off the slopes, South Lake Town is the main hub, with bars and restaurants at the base of the Heavenly Gondola. Fifty yards away are three casino resorts with nightclubs, bars and restaurants - sipping an enormous margarita at Cabo Wabo after winning your fortune on blackjack is certainly a unique way to end your ski day, or you can avoid the casinos by sticking to the lakeshore hotels.
