"Austrian resorts are famous for their après ski (St Anton and Ischgl in particular are vivacious and cosmopolitan), the scenery is rather spectacular and you can feel the ski history around you. Oh, and the skiing is pretty good too!"

Skiing in Austria

We have complemented our ‘Shorter’ Breaks programme this year by adding three renowned Austrian ski resorts - St Anton, Lech and Ischgl – ideal for
7 day skiing holidays. If you are after a ski holiday for less than a week, have a look at our Swiss resorts – the Austrian resorts are not suited for short ski breaks or weekends.
You can really sense a strong sense of ski tradition and history in each of the Austrian resorts. High alpine meadows provide forgiving intermediate terrain, steep-sided valleys lend themselves to black-run descents and idyllic mountain villages are dotted along the valley floor.
And once the lifts stop, Austrian resorts come into their own. The après-ski is legendary, particularly in St Anton and Ischgl with their open-til-dawn bars and nightclubs. Relaxing, comfortable dining is also available everywhere.
The resorts we have chosen are accessed from Zurich airport by car, private transfer or train - the transfer time is 2 hours to Lech and St Anton and 3 hours to Ischgl. St Anton is easily accessible by train but we recommend hiring a car or private transfer for Lech and Ischgl as neither resort has a station.
