How to Ski Whistler for Less

Money Saving Tips & Tricks from 30 Years of Whistler Ski Holidays

Whistler's huge terrain doesn't need to come with a huge price tag. Drawing on three decades of skiing and selling holidays there, I'm here to reveal Ski Safari's money saving tips and tricks and show you how you can save thousands on your Whistler ski holiday.

By booking early, you can save on nearly every element of your Whistler holiday - flights, transfers, accommodation, lift passes, rentals, ski school, food and drink, and even activities. And once you add all those savings together, you can easily save over £2,000 per person compared to booking in-season.

Keep reading to find out about the best early booking deals in Whistler, or speak to our team for the most relevant offers for you. Call 01273 224060 or request a quotation online and we'll be in touch.

We have some fantastic packages available right now, with 10 nights from £1,265pp, plus lift passes from £58 per day. But most accommodation discounts end 31 August, so don't hang around!

Save on Flights

The earlier you book, the cheaper you fly

The first consideration for your Whistler ski holiday is getting there, and the quickest option is a direct flight from London Heathrow to Vancouver.

Flight prices can go up very quickly as seats sell, so the savings here come from booking early when there's plenty of availability (you'll have more choice of flight times, too!).

It pays to be flexible - both with departure dates and duration of your holiday - with March currently offering the lowest fares. That even works for family holidays next winter, as Easter falls early in 2026.

A popular option for 2025/26 is to fly via Iceland. It's often the cheapest flight option, opens up routes from Manchester and Edinburgh, and even allows for a free stopover in Reykjavik for a night or two.

My final flight tip is to make the most of flight sales (which we'll do for you), when you can save as much as £200-300 per person. But it’s worth noting that it’s not always best to hold out for a flight sale - air fares can easily go up in price while you wait, costing you more overall.

Save on Transfers

Discounts on shared transfers and kids go free

Once you've landed in Vancouver, you have a few options for the scenic journey along the Sea-to-Sky Highway, but the best value is a shared transfer with Whistler Connection from the airport right to your hotel. They can also pick you up or drop you off at hotels in Downtown Vancouver if you're adding a city stay!

Book early for discounted adult rates and free transfers for kids up to 12 (one free child per adult).

Save on Accommodation

Save up to 50% - plus free room upgrades

Accommodation is where some of the biggest savings can be made. While the biggest discounts ended on 30 June, you can still save an average of 30% and up to 40% when you book by 31 August.

Most of these discounts will reduce month by month until the start of the season, so again, it’s all about booking early to secure the biggest reduction. And as with flights, March typically promises the best savings.

For even more value, some hotels offer free room upgrades when you book early, swapping standard rooms for superiors and studios for one bedroom suites. This can have the added benefit of a kitchen, so you can also save on eating out.

See our Whistler ski holiday packages for an idea of costs for 7 and 10 night trips at our most popular hotels throughout the season. But with 26 hotels in our programme, we'd always recommend speaking to our team!

Save on Lift Passes

Ski from £58 per day

One of the biggest misconceptions about the cost of a Whistler ski trip comes from the lift pass price. Many people look at the high in-season ticket window price and think that’s what they’ll pay per day in advance. But that’s not true at any resort, let alone Whistler.

Purchase a Whistler Blackcomb Day Pass in advance, and you can ski for just £58 per day for an adult and £29 per day for a child (as much as 65% less than in-season prices). The Day Pass covers you for up to 10 days’ skiing, at which point it might be more cost-effective to upgrade to a full Epic Pass, which comes with heaps of additional benefits including 20% off on-mountain dining.

Save on Rentals

Discounted rates and kids rent free

The biggest savings on rentals are available to families with younger children, as kids 12 and under ski free when booked by 30 November (one free child per full-paying adult).

We can also offer discounts on all adult ski and snowboard rentals when booked by 30 November, so you have a while to decide between standard, performance and demo level equipment. Although a bit more expensive, I'd recommend going for demo if you can - you'll have access to some great kit and you'll be able to swap between piste, all-mountain and powder skis depending on conditions!

Ski and snowboard rentals start from £189 per adult for 6 days, £266 for 9 days.

Save on Food & Drink

Receive up to $500 in restaurant vouchers

Eating out can be expensive wherever you go on holiday, but Whistler has options to suit all budgets. Plus there are some great incentives to help you save (or treat yourself to a fancier restaurant!).

Book by 31 August for a $250 (10+ night stays) or $100 (7-9 nights) voucher to use at select restaurants, no matter where you stay. Or for an extra boost to your dining budget, stay at 4* Legends in Creekside Village for an additional $250 credit, or at the 3*+ Listel in Whistler Village for $100 credit at the amazing Bearfoot Bistro.

Secure savings on snowmobiling, dog sledding and snowshoeing tours with Canadian Wilderness Adventures when you book by 30 November. One of our favourite local companies, we've tried a lot of their tours between us.

How Much Does it All Cost?

When you add all these savings together, you can book a 10 night Whistler ski holiday including flights, transfers, accommodation, lift pass and rentals for just over £2,000pp - and then receive money back to spend on dining out!

But prices will be going up on 01 September, so make sure to contact our team for a tailor-made quote before it's too late. Some of us have been skiing there for decades, some have lived and worked there, and nearly all of us have skied there at least once. Call 01273 224060 or request a quotation online and we'll be in touch.
