North America's first destination ski resort, built in 1936, Sun Valley is home to year-round sun, endless vertical slopes and virtually no crowds.

The best skiing is on Bald Mountain, or ‘Baldy’ as the locals call it. There are dozens of superb wide cruisers and many runs to push advanced skiers and riders. Dollar Mountain, which featured the world's very first chairlift, offers the resort's more beginner-friendly terrain along with 76 rails and a 22-foot super pipe.

Nearby Ketchum, where the accommodation is based, is one of the most atmospheric Wild West ski towns in the USA. Dating back to 1880 it was a key mining and fur trapping town. Now it’s a vibrant centre for the arts with galleries, boutiques and great bars and restaurants where you are as likely to see a Hollywood star as you would in Aspen.

Historically hard to reach from the UK, it's now easy with a direct flight to Salt Lake City followed by a one hour hop to Sun Valley Airport and 30 minute transfer to resort. The free stop-over in Salt Lake City makes this a perfect twin-centre combination with Deer Valley, Park City or Solitude.

Every holiday is tailor-made, just for you.
