An excellent variety of intermediate and advanced terrain. Good snow conditions, we had fresh snow for our first morning skiing. Enjoyed skiing with the mountain hosts showing us some great skiing areas which would be hard to find as new skiers to the resort. We also learnt a lot about the history of the resort which was very interesting. Extremely quiet resort, even on powder days everyone spreads out as there is so much terrain to explore. There are so many opportunities for tree skiing which was always easily accessible and easy to dip in and out to the runs. Extremely friendly locals, whenever we were on a lift they would be sharing local knowledge, and where the best places to eat in town. Mountain food at lunchtime was excellent and great value. We ate mostly at Paradise Lodge. We drove into town several times during our 6 night stay and bought provisions for breakfast in Ferraro foods. We also visited the wonderful Rossland Town Museum which we would highly recommend. So great having a wonderful town only 7 minutes drive from the resort. The best thing about the resort is the huge amount of varied terrain and excellent lift systems to access all areas Our favourite area was Paradise with excellent intermediate well spaced tree skiing. And Grey mountain for more gladed skiing. Rafters bar after skiing was fun for a drink after skiing. We ate in the Josie Hotel twice during our stay which was 2 minute walk from our apartment at the Crescent. The Josie food was very good. We ate in Rossland several time, Mexican and Japanese which we ate at twice it was so good. The whole resort was extremely good value for money Next time we will do the cat skiing which is available every weekend. You can pay for a run on the day if the conditions are right. We are already talking about going again next year

Starting with the positives, the mountain itself is great, with a really good variety of trails, offering gladed tree runs, steep technical descents and easy groomers all across the four mountains. Despite unusually low snowfall, the mountain was managed well with nearly all terrain open throughout. We also didn't see a single lift line for the duration. Unfortunately, like most resorts, Red has been severely impacted by Covid with on mountain services limited - No Cat to Kirkup, on mountain dining closed, opening hours of other venues very limited (rafters closing at 17.00 every day due to staff shortages). The town also seems to have been impacted, with stores closing down, restaurant services limited etc. The town of Rossland, even regardless of Covid, is also very limited. We knew that it was small when booking but its limitations were greater than expected, with generally very poor quality restaurants and bars. The service everywhere was excellent and very friendly even if the food was some of the worst we've eaten anywhere. The stores that were open had a good selection and there's a good quality supermarket.

Good mountain with a wide variety of terrain, including a few catskiing runs. Kept us busy for a few days! One decent sized lodge and one snack hut on the mountain. Quite slow lifts though. Modern ski in/ski out accommodation available at The Josie hotel, with a good bar/restaurant. Not a lot else going on at the resort base in the evenings but thereis a regular inexpensive shuttle bus to Rossland town - worth visiting, if only for the Flying Steamshovel bar/restaurant.
