Sunday River in Maine is New England's second biggest ski area and the perfect place for a family ski holiday.
The ski resort has a good snow record and what nature doesn't provide, Sunday River's snow makers remedy with an awesome 92% snow-making coverage.
The skiing is on 8 separate peaks, which makes for varied terrain and changing scenery as you make your way from one end of Sunday River to the other.
There is an excellent ski school for all ages with a guaranteed learn to ski or ride program, as well as tubing and skating at the Nite Cap Fun Centre. There are a handful of restaurants at the Sunday River and the nearby town of Bethel has more.
