sugarbush skiing holidays 197x158Sugarbush is arguably the most picturesque mountain resort in New England, nestled in the Mad River Valley with sharp mountain contours, numerous peaks, and great views of the Adirondacks, Green Mountain and White Mountain ranges.

There is no doubt that it has some of the best skiing in the East with terrain cascading across six interconnecting peaks of two mountains, covering a total of 4,000 acres with 111 trails, 2,600 ft of vertical drop, two terrain parks, and a half pipe. Each area has its own personality and varied skiing - from epic glade runs like the Eden, steep mogul fields like the FIS and Ripcord, narrow and demanding runs on Castlerock Peak, and plenty of gentle groomers.

The resort has six cafeterias and a deli at the base with bars and lounges, ski shops and rental & repair shops. There are a variety of accommodation options including the beautiful Clay Brook resort development, new for 06/07, that offers superb ski-in ski-out access and luxurious accommodation – the highest quality resort accommodation in the East.

Cross-country and back country tours are available as well as an abundance of non-ski activities including sledding, Icelandic horseback rides, snowshoeing, movies, sleigh rides, snowmobiling, ice-skating and tubing. There are also spa and health clubs, indoor and outdoor pools and an indoor rock-climbing gym. All of these activities are available in the mountain resort, except for The Alta Day Spa which is in the nearby village of Warren.

The Mad River Valley is a reason in itself to visit Sugarbush and the nearby towns of Waitsfield and Warren are full of Vermont charm with quirky shops, great restaurants, artisan galleries, covered bridges, church steeples, and more…The Mad Bus provides free transportation between the 2 mountains and throughout the whole Mad River Valley.

New for 2007:

  • Clay Brook slope side luxury accommodations
  • A new post-and-beam restaurant, Timbers, offering both upscale and casual cuisine is attached to the Clay Brook residence.
  • A 23,000 square-foot day lodge, to replace the old Gate House Lodge. The new facility will offer increased seating, cathedral ceilings, a food court, and a new Castlerock Pub complete with an outdoor heated patio and barbeque area and live music après ski each Saturday.
