Why Killington?
The largest of the New England ski resorts, Killington is easily accessed from the UK, has a good range of skiing and a lively atmosphere - a winning ski holiday formula for many British skiers.
There is plenty of accommodation including self-catering condos, hotels, B&Bs and motels, as well as restaurants and lively bars. Skiing is on 6 separate mountains and the lift pass also covers the adjoining Pico Mountain ski area.
There is no real resort village at Killington - the accommodation, bars and restaurants are spread out along the 5 mile access road and in the surrounding area. The shuttle buses are excellent, but it is worth having a car to get to the skiing and aprés-ski.
The possibility of spending a couple of nights in Boston on your return, or visiting the Factory Outlet shopping centres, make skiing in New England additionally attractive, as does combining a trip to Killington with one of the other North Eastern ski resorts.
