If you are skiing in New England you are likely to fly into Boston, and with the airport only 10 minutes from the centre of town it'd be a shame to pass through this attractive city without stopping off. As your return flight departs in the evening, you could spend your last night in Boston which would then give you a full day to explore before catching your flight - it also means you don’t lose any ski time!
Boston is unlike many US cities in that it is so easy to get around by foot – hence it’s known locally as the 'walking city'. It is a compact city with several distinct areas including the waterfront with its excellent Aquarium, and Copley Plaza with its brownstone boutiques. The lively shops and cafes of Quincy market should be on your to-do list and after a drink at the 'Cheers' bar you will certainly be interested in finding some good food. We recommend The North End, Boston's famous Italian Quarter.
We offer hotels ranging from budget to luxury in the city centre as well as at the airport if that is more convenient. Many are ideally located in the 'Back Bay' area being only a few steps from the majority of the city's shopping centres and attractions. Boston is steeped in history and has the 'Freedom Trail' (an established walking route) to visit the key sights. A popular alternative to seeing the city is by 'Trolley Tours' - you can buy a day ticket and hop on/ off at any of the attractions.
