The Skiing
The resorts of Mont Sainte Anne, Le Massif and Stoneham are all with easy driving distance of Québec Safari City, so you can base yourself there and mix days on the slopes with those in the city. The resorts are blessed with over 260 inches of natural snow each year, a combined vertical drop of over 6,000 feet, a mountain playground of some 4,500 acres, and an impressive total of 139 ski and snowboard trails for all levels. If you like a bit of romance with your skiing, this is the Ski Safari for you.
Quebec Winter Carnival, Jan/ Feb
Québec Safari City is host to the biggest winter carnival in the world. This 2-week festival is a mixture of art, culture, sports and entertainment – night parades, a legendary canoe race on the frozen St Lawrence River, sugar shacks, horse-drawn sleigh or dogsled rides, toboggan runs and weekend market places. Snow sculptures, an Ice Tower and skating will also be on offer during this year's Carnival. A fun winter celebration for the entire family!
Villages Vacances Valcartier
The largest water park in Canada in the summer turns into ice slides in the winter!! It has an amazing 42 slopes specially adapted for inner tubes and carpet slides for the young and old – this is like no other tubing park in the world! Don’t miss the Himalaya, a high thrills sector where you speed down very long and steep slopes, then try snow rafting on Everest. The village has 17 lifts and over 4500 inner tubes, skating paths with music, karting on ice and a range of bars and restaurants. It is located 20 minutes from Québec Safari City.
The Ice Hotel Québec Safari
The only Ice Hotel in North America is located 20 minutes outside of Québec Safari City and has been recently voted no1 of The top 10 "quirkiest hotels" worldwide from online travel community site TripAdvisor. Open from early January through to early April each year (depending on the weather), The Ice Hotel is an amazing 3000 square metre complex made entirely of snow and ice. Facilities inside include a bar and nightclub, Wedding Chapel, art gallery, 2 hot tubs, sauna and 32 guest rooms and themed suites. For those wishing to spend the night at the Ice Hotel accommodation packages are available. Alternatively you can take a guided tour of the hotel or wander around at your leisure.
The Ice Hotel is located within the Duchesnay Eco-Resort and on-site you can enjoy a whole host of winter activities including skating, sledding, dog sledding, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing and ice fishing – see below for details.

Skating
The beautiful forest setting of the Duchesnay and the proximity of the Ice Hotel make the ice skating experience on the frozen Lac St-Joseph even more magical.
Sledding
There are two natural snow slides on the site and inner tubes are available.
Snowshoeing
Snowshoeing is a great way to explore this magnificent forested area in during the winter months. There is 59.3 km of trails in a loop. One of the trails leads to a heated hut. There is an easy 3.8 km to start you off.
Snowmobiling
For an unforgettable experience try a snowmobiling excursion - speed through miles and miles of snow on dedicated trails, glide over frozen lakes, explore the immense boreal forest or travel to wonderful places that cannot be reached by car.
Cross country skiing
The resort offers a network of maintained and patrolled trails. There is a total of 188.5 km in a loop for classic skiing and 24 km for skate skiing. There are 13 trails, 5 for the whole family, 5 for intermediate skiers and 3 for expert skiers. Along route you can take a break in one of the five wood-heated huts, or for a unique experience, you can even spend the night in one of them.
Ice fishing
The Baie de Duchesnay is the only spot on Lac Saint-Joseph where you ice fish. You can catch speckled trout and smallmouth bass, among other species.
Horse-drawn sleigh
Discover the outlying areas of the resort as part of a romantic ride on a horse-drawn sleigh in winter and early spring. The schedules are available at the reception desk (Le Boisé Lodge).

Museums, Arts and Culture
There are countless attractions and activities within walking distance or a short drive from Québec Safari City. The walled city itself offers a lively city centre with winding streets and quaint town squares and has been recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Not to be missed is the historic citadel and Plains of Abraham just outside the walls, as well as Place Royal, Musée de la Civilization, and the stunning fine arts collection of Musée National des beaux-arts Du Quebec within the walls.

Antiques and arts can be bought from the shops and galleries along Rue Saint-Paul.Craft lovers can find original pieces from the craftsmen of Quebec City, Ile d’ Orleans, Portneuf and the Huron village of Wendake.
There are also several big shopping malls with over 1100 stores and boutiques located a short drive away in the St Foy area and at Promenades Sainte-Anne (close to Mont-Sainte-Anne) there is a selection of Factory Outlet shops.
